1. Summary of work to be allocated into a specific WG
This partner will study the molecular mechanisms underlying the function of CO2-induced stomatal movements and the effect on water use effeciency. The work is integrated into WG2.
4. Qualification for the role and current grants
Maria Israelsson Nordström is an assistant profesor at the department of Botany, Stockholm University, Sweden. She is working on CO2-induced stomatal movement signaling in Arabidopsis thaliana. Her work is currently financed by the Swedish Research Council Formas and Carl Tryggers Foundation.
5. Technical expertise and facilities
This partner is monitoring stomatal and photosynthetic responses in wildtype and mutant Arabidopsis plants exposed to different concentrations of CO2 and various qualities and quantities of light. Standard laboratory facilities for plant molecular biology studies are available, as well as appropriate plant growth facilities.
